Rides for the rest of the week - 5/22, 5/24, 5/25, 5/26

Tomorrow, Thursday 5/22/2014 we will ride at 18:00 from the Ice Rink in Wilmette. Quick loop to Fort Sheridan and back. If the weather is bad, I will post a cancellation by 5PM on the day of the ride. Let me know if you are coming, so I can look for you.

On Saturday, 5/24/2014, we will ride around Lake Geneva, WI. The plan is to start at 9 AM SHARP.
We can meet in front of Big Bob's house (3122 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette) at 07:00 SHARP and figure out travel arrangements on the spot. We will try to carpool as much as we can. If you are able to take additional riders/bikes let me know. If you prefer to go straight to Lake Geneva, then plan to be ready to ride at 09:00 SHARP. We will start from the Abbey Resort (269 Fontana Blvd, Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, WI 53125). Contact Bob for parking instructions.
The plan is to ride 2 or 3 loops around the lake (~25 miles per loop, with some decent hills).
If there is interest in having the spouses/significant others/kids etc. meet us there after the ride, we can try and organize a group lunch or BBQ. Let me know if you want to do it, so we can plan accordingly.
If the weather is bad, I will post a cancellation by 06:00 AM on the day of the ride. Let me know if you are coming, and if you are going to meet at Bob's house, or in Lake Geneva.

On Sunday, 5/25/2014, we can meet at Panera Bread in Wilmette and be ready to ride at 08:00 SHARP. We can do the St. Mary loop. If the weather is bad I will post a cancellation by 07:00 AM on the day of the ride.

On Monday, 5/26/2014, we can meet at Panera Bread in Wilmette and be ready to ride at 08:00 SHARP. We can decide what ride to do on the spot, depending on how we feel and who shows up. If the weather is bad I will post a cancellation by 07:00 AM on the day of the ride.

Rides for Saturday (Remote Start) and Sunday 5/10 & 5/11/2014

On Saturday we will do a ride in the Barrington Hills area. We will start from Ryerson Woods Forrest Preserve. The address is:

21950 N Riverwoods Rd, Riverwoods, IL 60015

When you enter the Forrest Preserve, go all the way to the last parking, where the main building is. Plenty of free parking. Plan for about 20-25 minute drive from Wilmette. The ride will start promptly at 08:00 AM, so plan to arrive with time to set your bike etc. We will do 65-80 miles depending on which route Herb and Young take us. Bring water and food to eat on the bike. We may or may not have a food stop. Let me know if you are coming so I can look for you. If there is interest, we can try and organize some carpooling. Let me know if you need a ride, or if you can take others with you and I will try to coordinate.

On Sunday we can do the usual St. Mary loop. Starting from Panera Bread in Wilmette at 08:00 AM SHARP.
If the weather is bad I will post a cancellation before 7AM on the day of the ride.

Rides for Saturday & Sunday 5/3 &5/4/2014

Saturday:
Let's meet at Panera Bread in Wilmette and be ready to ride at 08:00 AM. We will do the usual cemetery loop with a short stop at Panera on Rt. 176. Back before noon.
Sunday:
Few of us are going to join Rene Boer for the ride to Lake Geneva. It will be a remote start from Union, IL, so plan accordingly (about 70 minutes drive from Wilmette). Let me know if you are going to that one, so I can look for you. Rene will leave at the listed start time, so plan to be there ahead of time. They do not wait for people who come late and I really do not know the way to Lake Geneva from there. Bellow are the details from Rene.
For those wanting to stay local on Sunday, there will be regular VF Show and Go from Panera Bread in Wilmette at 09:00 AM.
If the weather is bad I will post a cancellation by 7AM on both days.

"We have our annual "get in gear" ride to Lake Geneva, WI scheduled for Sunday, May 4th departing the Wild West Steakhouse in Union, IL at 9am. In years past we've forded streams, basked in the sun and fought gale force winds ... who only knows what Sunday's weather will bring ... dress appropriately.
Depending on the turnout we may have more than one group ... faster/slower. We'll stop for approximately 5 minutes in Woodstock enroute to Lake Geneva where we'll stop for 20 minutes for a quick lunch .. Jimmy John's or Starbucks. The return trip has no stops. Ensure that you have adequate liquids and snacks with you for the return trip. Total distance is 68 miles. This is a "social ride" NOT a hammer fest ... a good opportunity to meet fellow Sub5 riders and have some fun. We'll enjoy a beer(s) after the ride.
