On Thursday 7/12/2012 we are going to join the Higher Gear Bicycle Store in Wilmette ride. It starts at 17:30 SHARP from their store in
Plaza del Lago. The ride goes to Fort Sheridan and back with no stops. The pace is fast - the average speed with all stop signs and traffic lights is over 20 mph. There are sprints at well over 30 mph. There is plenty of free parking in front of the store if you come driving.

On Saturday 7/14/2012 we will ride the Sub-5 Hour Century Challenge course in Hampshire, IL. The ride will start at 07:30 AM from the Hampshire High School. We will do the entire distance - 3 laps, 100 miles with minimal breaks in between each lap. Bring water, sports drinks, snacks, food, sun screen etc. We will have a cooler with ice where we can keep some of the drinks and food. It takes a little over an hour drive from Evanston to the starting location of the ride. Plan to arive 10 minutes earlier and be ready to roll at 07:30. On Sunday 7/15/2012 we will start at 08:00 AM from Panera in Wilmette and do the usual St. Mary ride with a loop around the cemetery. Short water/restroom stop at Panera on Rt. 176 and food stop at the end of the ride at Panera in Wilmette.
And for those that benefit from a good warm up before the ride, good idea to get some riding in on the parking lot prior to 7:30 am start time in Hampshire. The group will be headed down an incline at 28 mph within the first half mile of the ride.
